Janeicia Neely is a professional basketball player for Sport Lisboa Benfica in Lisbon, Portugal interested in furthering her basketball experience. Janeicia represented Loyola University of New Orleans Women’s Basketball team as the starting point guard. She has been playing basketball for over 10 years. The game has taught her that a positive and productive work ethic are both essential to becoming great. Janeicia welcomes any and all basketball professionals to connect.

As a student-athlete at Loyola University of New Orleans, Janeicia earned her bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication while completing numerous internships. She has worked as the Sports Information Intern at Loyola University of New Orleans where she was responsible for writing press releases for each athletic team as well as maintaining the athletics website.

Similar to my athletics position, Janeicia worked as the Social Media Intern for Higher Power NOLA, a New Orleans yoga and cycling studio. She was responsible for updating and scheduling relevant online posts regularly. Janeicia was also a member of Loyola’s Advertising team and performed on the creative team. Her duties included creating and planning all the digital, print and commercial ads. Janeicia’s team was awarded 2nd place in the National Student Advertising Competition for our collective effort.

Janeicia has worked as a documentary film intern for America Media. During this internship she created a short documentary in conjunction with two of her film classes. Throughout the process she learned the steps necessary to create a documentary as well as various shooting and lighting techniques.

Janeicia has also worked as a communications intern for Danielle M. Dayries & Associates, Inc. She updated Danielle’s social media, specifically her LinkedIn to the industry standard, rewrote all official documents describing the business’ services, and developed social media messages.
Her writing experience also includes serving as a staff writer for The Maroon, Loyola’s award-winning newspapers, and currently a contributing writer. She worked as a video production intern for Party Like a Rockstar LLC for this internship she composed commercials and music performances.
